Memories of Chelsea Flower Show 2008

Published on 01/01/1900

This time last year we were preparing for the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2008 and what a time we had! Our stand was flooded with enquires from customers all over the world including South Africa and Australia. many of those customer regularly keep in touch with us and tell us about the wildlife in their gardens.

For all our hard efforts the RHS awarded a "Certificate of Commendation" for our stand display.

The 2008 Chelsea stand ( EA53) was a granary theme and an ideal place to show off nature's seeds. We are proud of our farming history and our knowledge of wildlife feeds, believing in the need to get closer to nature. In a world of high tech gizmo’s and computer games there is compelling evidence for us all to embrace the great outdoors and connect with nature. It is important for young children to explore the garden and local woods once again, to watch and experience the real world. To be slimed or even licked again . All these experiences will enrich both parent and child, and create a long term affinity with the creatures we share our world with.

Our well renowned Rowanberries we use in our Huskfree – No Waste were on hand to “feel the grain” and there will be plenty of advice on how to create a wildlife friendly garden.

As a family business with over 250 years of nuturing and harvesting seeds, we believe we know a good seed when we see one! More importantly we believe we understand the wildlife in our back gardens.
